Family Tree

A few years ago I got this great birthday present from my mom and my sister.

On my recent visit back home, I picked it up and brought it with me back to Halifax where I'll be living for the next 9 months. It sits right on my window sill!

I still don't understand how the people you love most will always be there for you, but at the same time they are the easiest to hurt. Intimacy in relationships with others, with God, and even in understanding yourself helps you see endless beauty, but has the possibility of bringing deep pain as well.

I suppose that is the risk we must take in order to be known & loved.
